Great suggestions! Another suggestion would be to work along with the Student SHPE chapters of the schools in Southern CA area. Meet with them and possibly do a few joint events, possibly:
--Community Service event
--Leadership workshops we can host
Excited in starting to see and feel the buzz with the SHPE LA chapter!! Looking forward in meeting you all!
Ideas for networking events
Hello SHPE LA - I wanted to put out some feelers for potential events to do this year. I recently spoke with a recruiter from google who was open to the possibility of hosting a SHPE event.
===> Do we have any software engineers or computer scientists who would be interested in a joint event with Google?
There is also the possibility of doing a joint event with NSHMBA in May with Qualcomm.
===> Do we have any people who would be interested in meeting with Qualcomm?

1. Annual picnic
2. quarterly membership meeting highlighting two speakers who draw crowds; vips, industry captains, investment gurus.
3. Annual recruiting event for professional members.
4. We need a marketing piece on why it pays to be a shpe member.
a. career advancement opportunities
b. meet and greet industry peers and vips
c. meet and greet marriage partner
d. help your community, mentorship opportunities
e. testimonials.
